OBSERVANCE OF SINGLE USE PLASTIC FREE DAY – CHIEF GUEST DR LALZIRMAWIA CHHANGTE IAS
BANNING SINGLE USE PLASTIC
We observed Single Use Plastic Free Day with our high school section today. Some students from the Higher Sections were unable to participate in the programme due to our space’s capacity to hold all of us. The event’s chief guest, respected Shri Dr. Lalzirmawia Chhangte, IAS, the highest ranking officer in the Education Department, stressed that eliminating single-use plastic from daily life is a crucial step in creating a sustainable world we can proudly pass down to our next generation. He emphasised that it is the responsibility of the students to actively participate in the effort to educate the public about the dangers of single-use plastic.
The students took the pledge to protect environment and forest in this event observed on the occasion of National Pollution Control Day.
In our everyday life, single-use plastic is widely rampant. We consider ourselves quite fortunate that our highest level official took the issue seriously and voiced his worry for the students. We really hope that his presence and encouragement will inspire students and the larger community to take significant action to reduce plastic pollution.
Once Again, the program’s enlightenment comes from our school choir, which was led by Mr. Reubena.
