SCHOOL GIRLS LEARNING SELF DEFENCE
Crimes and violence against women have skyrocketed, and no woman in our country is safe for even a second. Every day and every hour, there is news of rape, kidnapping, molestation, domestic abuse, and human trafficking against women, and in such cases, there is a purposeful need for girls to prepare themselves for their own protection and safety.
Though taekwondo is not required in schools and its value for females is typically overlooked, our school NSS leaders believe that it is critical for girls to acquire a skill or method of self-defense. On this day, our school girls in our ARTS BLOCK learnt taekwondo techniques and tenets for self-defense from a Taekwondo Master as part of the NSS programme “WOMEN’S SELF DEFENCE” in collaboration with Mizoram Amateur Taekwondo Association.
